I’m sitting here at my desk thinking back over 2024. It started strong and didn’t let up (something for which I am always grateful as a small business owner and freelancer).
I started the year in Miami shooting interviews for a corporate client that ended up being released on social media though the year (one was release a few days ago!)
I had fun creating a set of 10 “Masterclass” style lecture videos for History Colorado, and learning all about some hoaxes, myths, and mysteries. Check em out, they’re super fun and engaging.
I flew from one coast to the other to interview giants in the mobile phone world and document the history of that world from first hand accounts. Then I and another editor created a set of videos where some of those pioneers were honored. I also got to create a video honoring a Hollywood actress who was more than what she seemed.
I narrated another 15 or so books this year, and that brings my total to 135 released right now! One stand out was the book “Leadership is Worthless… but Leading is Priceless” by Thom Mayer, the Medical Director for the NFL Players Association, who was also the Command Physician at the Pentagon on 9/11. His vision of leadership is inspiring and very much about bringing people along with you on a journey, not just dictating a direction.
And finally, I continued to create weekly videos for a local museum that is on a journey of reinvention. As part of that process I and another creative partner had created a documentary about a mummy that has been at the museum for over 100 years. It’s a surprising story that took several years to document and create. It was finished last year, but this year it won several awards and is now available for you to watch!
And there were many more projects (like a global skin brand product shoot!), each and every one fun and rewarding in their own way. You can check in on my social media and see some of what I’ve been up to and follow along.
Through it all I worked with some fantastic people. I am incredibly grateful for their trust in my skills and expertise. I can’t do what I do without them.
You are probably one of those people. And if you aren’t I’d love to explore working with you and seeing what we can create together.
So, here’s to the end of a great year, and the beginning of what I hope is another great year.
Happy Holidays!
Will
